Lil Wayne: ‘I used to think 21 Sa vage was a group of 21 rappers’

Lil Wayne is superior to everyone else in the remainder of the rap scene. Because that level is so different, he regularly finds himself in the dark when people explain the newest hip-hop star to rule the scene. On Friday, January 31, Tidal released the latest episode of REVOLT’s Drink Champs, which included Weezy. In his conversation with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, Wayne talks about his new album Funeral and remembers a time when he thought 21 Sаvаge was made up of more than just one rapper. Rapper Young Money says that at first, he mistakenly believed 21stage to be a collective of rappers.

Wayne remembers, “I used to think 21 Sаvаge was just a dumb group. When they asked me [about him], I said, ‘They got 21 fucƙ¹ng lil rappers in one group?’” I meant business. My first thought was, “Man, that’s like a new Wu-Tang, right?”

Wayne revealed something that would have shocked fans just as much later in the conversation. N.O.R.E. questioned Wayne on his preference for T.D.E. (Top Dawg Entertainment) over Quality Control Music during a brief game of This or That. Wayne gave off the impression that he was ignorant of the labels.

Wayne answered, “I don’t know who T.D.E is.” Given that they both worked on Wayne’s “Mona Lisa” song from Tha Carter V, Weezy is aware of Kendrick Lamar.
