Nearly a decade has passed since Drake’s controversial performance at the Kentucky Wildcats’ 2014 Midnight Madness. The top-charting rapper’s discography and sneaker collection have become famous over the last ten years (his jump shot has also gotten better).
Drake recently made a return visit to Lexington to offer his support for his favourite college basketball team, as March Madness swept the country. He snapped a short photo in the basketball team’s video room while on campus, showcasing his new Nike trainers.
Drake shared a photo to Instagram of himself wearing the upcoming NOCTA x Nike Hot Step II and Kentucky’s warm-ups. The photo shows him sitting in an empty room. Fans get their finest glimpse at the sneakers to date in Complex Sneakers’ social media post.
The NOCTA x Nike Hot Step II does not yet have an official release date. However, it is anticipated that the athletic lifestyle trainers will go on sale this summer in adult sizes for $200 in both the orange and white colorways (seen above).
Several styles have been released under Drake’s Nike sublabel since the establishment of NOCTA in 2022. However, appreciate this first sentence of its second installment. Drake’s NOCTA collection is available for online consumers to view on the Nike website.
Drake brings attention to the Wildcats, whereas the majority of NCAA basketball teams have to fight for it. The devoted superfan utilises his influence to improve the programme and has provided free trainers to student-athletes.
Drake will likely be seen on screen more frequently in the coming weeks as Kentucky’s men’s basketball team looks to lock up a favourable seed in the NCAA tournament. Keep an eye on FanNationKicks.com for all the latest sports footwear news.
