Lil Wayne has provided the MVP of television program theme music.
The 40-year-old rapper composed the opening theme for the new Fox Sports 1 series Undisputed, which Skip Bayless is hosting. The “Good Morning” single was released on Monday, prior to the premiere of the program.
Skip Bayless, a 71-year-old sports journalist and commentator, uploaded the hip-hop composition to X (previously referred to as Twitter).
“Lil Wayne, my sibling, composed an entirely new introduction for the brand-new Undisputed. It may very well be his finest to date,” The presenter of Undisputed composed.
The composition in question is a remix of the “No Mercy” theme from Balyess’ former FS1 series, which was originally composed by jingle writer Jared Gutstadt. Although concise, the bars pack a powerful puncҺ, and Weezy makes numerous sports references. “If you don’t have any haters, you ain’t popping, and I ain’t tryna hate,” he raps. “Let’s debate Lebron and Michael Jordan; I have time on my hands; my diamonds have something to sаy; if you consider it a game, I will commentate; I have no obligation to participate.”
On Monday’s episode of Undisputed, Wayne and Bayless, an individual who has developed into a close companion of his over the years, discussed the song. Bayless referred to the hip-hop superstar as “the finest rapper of all time” and remarked, “What I adore about this is that you get me just as well, if not better than anyone else, and you absolutely nail these lyrics. And upon hearing them, I exclaim, “That’s it.” “That precisely describes Undisputed.”
“I would certainly hope so,” the musician of “A Milli” replied. “I strive to improve upon my previous endeavors. Because I am certain you are impressed and you are a huge fan of ‘No Mercy.’ Simply to take advantage of the progress you have made. It is not difficult. It’s effortless. On Fridays, the Grammy-winning artist will also serve as a guest commentator on the program. The news was first reported by Bayless on his podcast The Skip Bayless Show earlier this month.
The sports personality stated, “He is the driving force behind the relaunch, and Wayne has agreed to do a live segment with me every Friday moving forward. Regarding the bigger picture, this is significant.” Depending on his schedule, he might not be in the studio every week, but he will be joining me every Friday for a segment.
Rebranded from Skip and Sharpe: Undisputed to Undisputed on FS1 subsequent to former NFL star Shannon Sharpe’s June announcement that he would be abandoning the series.
