Even though Diddy received his first nomination in twenty years, he declined an invitation to the 2024 Grammy Awards ceremony.

For his work with Murphy Lee and Nelly on the song “Shake Ya Tailfeather,” the Bad Boy leader was last nominated in 2004 for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. But he’s not coming back to see if The Love Album: Off the Grid wins the Best Progressive R&B Album title.

The Hollywood Reporter has apparently been notified by a representative of the struggling media magnate that he will not be attending the ceremony on February 4.

All nominees receive automatic invitations to the ceremony; however, Diddy has decided not to attend. Diddy follows other controversial singers who have received Grammy nominations in the past, such as Dr. Luke and Louis CK.

Just one week after the Grammy nominees were announced in December of last year, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie accused the rapper and producer of rape and sexual assault in a lawsuit.

The following day, the lawsuit was “amicably” settled for an undisclosed price, but Puff vehemently denied the allegations.

In the wake of Cassie’s case, Diddy has been the subject of other further lawsuits, all of which he has refuted, alleging different sex offenses from the early 1990s.

In all, four lawsuits have been filed against the 54-year-old. In one of them, Diddy, former Bad Boy CEO Harve Pierre, and another man are accused of gang-raping a woman when she was just 17 years old.

In a single public statement, Diddy addressed the allegations and blasted people who said he was looking for a “quick payday.”

He posted on social media with the message, “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.” For the past two weeks, I have been silently witnessing attempts to malign my reputation, my legacy, and my character.

Horrible allegations have been made against me by those looking to make quick money. To be absolutely clear, none of the terrible things being stated are something I did. I will defend my name, my family, and the truth.

Previous reports stated that the Diddy incident had put the Recording Academy in a “crisis,” with many famous invitees wanting to shun him.

“Some, including several high-profile African-American members, fear that inviting him sends the wrong message to audiences and the charities it supports,” the person who spoke with The Mirror said. He has been asked by several publicists not to put their performances next to him. It’s a complete logistical meltdown.
