In January 2024, a photo that went viral accurately portrayed Rihanna, a pop vocalist, who was in fact pregnant with her third child alongside rapper A$AP Rocky.

A post by X (formerly Twitter) user @LustSierra claiming that U.S. musical icon Rihanna and rapper A$AP Rocky (born Rakim Mayers) were expecting a third child went viral on January 14, 2024. As of this writing, the post had accumulated over 9,700,000 views, 59,000 favorites, and 7,700 retweets.

One user wrote, “Let her have as many as she desires; she can afford them.”

This claim, however, is false.

The photo is outdated, as several astute users have noted in the comments section of the post and in the Community Notes that are appended. The photograph was taken on the evening of June 20, 2023, during a Louis Vuitton fashion display in Paris, France. The paper that is prominently displayed in the photograph seems to bear the inscriptions Rihanna A$AP Rocky and [heart symbol].

A Rihanna fan account on Instagram, @badgalririi_fenty, posted the above photo as well as a slightly blurrier one of the same frame in a larger collection of images from June.

We reached out to the account with the viral post seeking comment on the origins of the photos and will update this story if necessary.

Riоt Rose, the couple’s second child, was born on August 3, 2023, as reported by Harper’s Bazaar. The image incorporated into the tweet depicted the celebrity during her second son’s pregnancy, not that of a third, future child.

A rumоr that the couple was expecting their third child in November 2023 has been debunked previously. We ascertained that the assertion was also untrue.
