Lil Nas X will study the Bible at Liberty University to purify his soul

Given that Lil Nas X frequently speaks with his tongue in his cheek, it could be challenging for some people to tell when the rapper is being serious and when he’s just kidding. He posted what seemed to be a letter from Liberty University admitting him to their Biblical Studies department, for example, yesterday (January 9). But is it really the case?

Will Lil Nas X attend Liberty University to study Biblical Studies?

No, it doesn’t appear likely.

Following the tweet’s sharing on X (formerly Twitter), a community notice titled “This is an altered image” has been published, providing information on the signer of the purported letter. Liberty University’s former president, Jerry Falwell, passed away in 2007. Dondi E. Costin is Liberty University’s current president. The letter additionally provides a link to an official Liberty page confirming Falwell’s demise.

Additionally, in response to Nas’s tweet, Jerry Falwell Jr., the president of the university after his father’s deаth, wrote on X, “This is the real Jerry Falwell, Pres of Liberty University 2007-2020, and that is my signature.” Even though I realize this is a prank, I would have been happy to sign the letter allowing you to enroll. Never trust a word that has been spoken in the past three years! Grace only—no judgment at LU!”

Therefore, it appears that Nas will not be attending Liberty University in the near future and that the letter was forgery.
